Curriculum mapping
In 2011 we started to generate a curriculum map to show the extent to which our programmes achieve the competencies required of the Foundation Programme in each foundation year.
How do we do this?
- We ask all trainees to give their view on how well the post meets each curriculum outcome. Where there is more then one trainee in a department we generate an average rating. Map my specialty/post(s)
- We ask all departmental lead Consultants to state how well they believe the post meets the curriculum outcomes.
- We include a curriculum map for each generic professional education day.
- We will present this as a colour coded chart for each F1 and F2 programme which will be available with each set of job descriptions and an overall summary rating.
- Posts are listed for mapping once the first three months have been completed. A summary of these submissions is displayed on the home page when users are logged in.
- No data is linked to individuals, except to track that curriculum mapping has been completed.
