NYEC F2 Matching
Our matching principles follows those laid down in the MMC "Operational Framework". You can read them in this pop up box.
Please note: This matching scheme is only available to F1 doctors who have been appointed to two year programmes. F1 doctors not appointed for both years should discuss their eligibility for F2 programmes with their Foundation Training Programme Director or Director of Postgraduate Medical Education/Clinical Tutor.
How will it be done?
Matching will be as follows (only accessible to trainees within NYEC Foundation School):
- F2 matching is not open but you can log in for other authorised user services.
- Choose 'make choices' from the F2 matching context menu
- Confirm the location of your F1 programme and the programme your are in (this cannot be changed by you)
This step is important as it will determine the choices available to you in the next stage. - Select 5 ranked preferences for your F2 programme.
Optionally, include the specialty you most want to do during the F2 year (in case we are unable to match you to any of your 5 choices)
Trainees will be matched as closely as possible to their preferences. Once 0 doctors have submitted their details, an overview chart will be available to show the level of 'competition' that exists for each programme.
Whilst matching is open, choices can be changed at any time by going back through the selection process. It will populate the selection form with your current choices and allow you to edit them.
Please note, that the NYEC internal matching scheme does not use application forms, scoring or ranking to determine F2 allocations.
Anticipated timetable
- December - Online system will be live
- Beginning February - Online system closes
- Mid February - matching complete
- End February - doctors notified of F2 programmes
