Learning links
What are learning links?
Many of us have our 'favourite' web pages that we use for learning. In this section such resources can be shared with all trainees and tutors within the foundation school. Web pages can be added, and then rated by others. This way we can build a library of the best learning resources to assist foundation doctors in their professional development.
Note: Unfortunately this service is only available to authorised users once they are logged in.
To view current submissions
- Click the 'view pages' link from the context menu.
- Select the category you wish to search (default is 'All')
- Select a sorting option (default is 'Average score')
- Click 'Submit'
- The results will be displayed
- From here you can opt to read the current reviews or submit your own
To view a page that has been reviewed
- Click the web site link on the 'view pages' option or from the 'read reviews' option
- The page will load into a new tab/window and a counter will increment to indicate a 'click through'
To submit a new page
- Click the 'submit page' link from the context menu
- Complete each of the fields in the form - remember to include the http:// part of the URL
- Include a category, or choose 'add new' and enter the category title in the 'New category field'
- Click 'Submit'
- The new page will be added and the page redisplayed with the information
To read page reviews
- View the pages (see view current submissions above)
- From the list select the page and click on its associated 'read reviews' option
- The currently submitted reviews will be displayed in reverse date order
To submit a review
- View the pages (see view current submissions above)
- From the list select the page and click on its associated 'review this page' option
- This will open the form to submit a page review
- Complete all the fields and click submit
- Your review will be added and you will be returned to the reviews for this page with your review at the top
- If you have already submitted a review, when you open this page it will reload your review for you to edit (handy for dealing with typos!!)
You cannot submit more than one review of a page!
To report a broken link
- Simply click the 'report broken link' from the 'view pages' context menu
- It will mark the site as having a broken link, acknowledge you report and return you to the list of pages
