  • NYEC Foundation School started in August 2005 with 106 F1 trainees. 

  • in August 2006 this increased to 126 F1 trainees together with 121 F2 trainees, many of whom were appointed as F1 doctors in August 2005. 

  • an additional 37 F1 programmes were added in August 2007 with a proportionate increase in F2 numbers. 

  • this expansion will continue again in August 2008, when we look forward to welcoming the first Hull York Medical School (HYMS) graduates into F1!

  • all trainees spend each year in a different Trust
  • all trainees spend one year in a teaching hospital and one year in a DGH
  • all F1 programmes include medicine in general and surgery in general
  • all F2 programmes aspire to provide one primary care post and one acute care post
  • F2 programmes are selected by trainees from a list of complementary programmes through a collaborative matching process with no scores, no forms and no interviews!!  | more |

ESOVS F2 Course (Opthalmology trainees commencing Aug 2008)

The European School of Ophthalmology & Visual Science is in the process of preparing a unique course for doctors rotating through ophthalmology as part of their F2 programme, and we are currently assessing the demand for such a course.
